The Equine Workout - examples
If this concept sounds confusing, I get it.
This training without adding the riders weight sounds simple until you try to do it..
We put together the examples below so you get motivated to start workouts.
Example #1.
This is Caroline and Morris, training "The Plank".
Although this may seem they are training the “old” way (the horse works to avoid pressure), it’s actually the exact opposite. Morris is doing his exercises to get reinforcers.
Plus Morris knows the exercise well and is nearly training proprioception on his own..
Example #2.
Hanna and Chiron on a wobbling platform.
The more often you can spent time on this easy exercises, the faster you will see results like improved balans, agility and strength.
Tips for Success
Here are a few tips to help you maximize your results with The Equine Workout.
The beginning,
To achieve the best workout results, you have to train short exercises often.
When you are able to break down the exercises in small achievable steps, you get positive results from the beginning.
The exercises train the horses body from the first moment, even the smallest step is already valuable.
For example:
When your horse is starting to set his hooves on a platform it is training it´s balance and proprioception during the firsts attempts.
For even better results, make sure your horse is getting enough reinforcers and enjoying every minut of your training.
To get started:
- grab a bag of desirable reinforcers (that may be part of your horses daily food)
- be sure to reinforce the slightest trials
- make sure your horse is calm and motivated
Finally,
Nowadays, people prefer to train their horses fitness without the impact of a riders weight. there are a lot of options to train your horses inner core, such as parcour obstacles, seesaws, car tires and madrasses..
If you want to your horse to be well muscled and balanced, you can’t overlook this crucial training.
There is no way to get the same results with traditional training, we train the inner strength without risking injuries.
And if the idea of training workouts with your horse makes you feell nervous, consider this:
a well trained horse has a better balance and this will help him to carry you as his rider in a much more secure way.
That means if you don’t start workouts, your horses physics will remain the same.

I hope this guide on proprioceptionstraining has been helpful. If you take anything away from this guide, remember that short training often is better than one long session.
The best way to train is to start with easy obstacles such as slim madrasses, that way you can set your horse and yourself up for success.
Remember, even the first trials are valuable training.
